McHENRY – A new chief mechanic has joined the team at Adams Auto Body and Service Center in McHenry.

Bob Miller is a 37-year veteran ASE-certified mechanic and former manager-partner of the Shawnee Service Center in Wilmette. In October, he joined the staff at Adams, 1811 W. Route 120, according to a news release.

A collision repair business since 1958, Adams added a full mechanical repair and maintenance division in late 2012.

“We are thrilled to have Bob join us,” said Jay Adams, president of Adams Auto Body and Service Center. “Not only is he an extremely knowledgeable guy with an excellent reputation in his field, he’s also a genuinely nice guy – just a pleasure to be around.”

Miller, who lives in McHenry, said he will miss many of his former customers, but he is enjoying his new position.

“I fully enjoy all of the people I work with and I’m glad to be part of a well-established, local business,” Miller said. “Adams’ motto is ‘Customer satisfaction is always first,’ and that’s the way I have always operated.”

Fifty-seven-year-old Miller is a father of four and grandfather of five. He plans a June wedding with his fiancée, Sandi Wohlert, also of McHenry.

Adams Auto Body supports drive-in campaign Thu, 27 Jun 2013 23:17:36 +0000

The Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, IL) – Thursday, June 27, 2013

McHENRY – Adams Auto Body and Service Center , 1811 W. Route 120, McHenry, is among the first to participate in a new facet of the McHenry Outdoor Theater’s Drive to Stay Alive campaign.

Owners of the drive-in theater, 1510 N Chapel Hill Road, McHenry, are striving to generate $130,000 to buy the digital projector and other booth upgrades needed to remain in business after distribution of movies on film ends later this year.

As part of that effort, officials at the drive-in are offering advertising space along the fence that surrounds the property.

“This just seemed like a great opportunity,” said Adams Auto Body President Jay Adams . “Everybody loves the Outdoor. We’d all hate to see it fall into the history books.”

Adams Auto partners with NAPA AutoCare Tue, 12 Feb 2013 23:44:50 +0000

The Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, IL) – Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013

McHENRY – Since opening its mechanical division in the fall, the expanded Adams Auto Body and Service Center has achieved another distinction – becoming a NAPA AutoCare center.

Adams is now one of about 14,000 NAPA AutoCare centers nationwide to have earned the invitation-only designation, said Russ Ozminski, NAPA regional vice president.

“What it tells customers is that the business owner cares enough by using quality parts, and through the training and quality of his technicians … for him to qualify to be part of the NAPA AutoCare and Collision Center Program,” Ozminski said.

Adams General Manager Rick Corso said he is excited about the new partnership, which links the nationally recognizable NAPA name — not to mention its exceptional warranty — with the locally highly regarded Adams name. Certain discounts also come with the partnership, which spells savings for consumers.

NAPA offers a 24-month, 24,000-mile nationwide warranty, meaning that if a problem ever should arise, customers will find a hassle-free fix no matter where in the country they might be.

“That’s a very nice plus,” said Jay Adams, owner of Adams Auto Body and Service Center, located on Route 120 just east of Chapel Hill Road.

The new NAPA designation applies to Adams’ auto and truck, collision and mechanical divisions. To learn more about the NAPA AutoCare program and distinction, visit
